Fender Am. Std. Jazz’s

Here’s a pair of 2008 Fender American Jazz Basses. Originally the white 5-string had a red tortoiseshell pick-guard, which has now been replaced with a custom mirror guard, while the black 4-string had a white guard and chrome control cover, now replaced with a custom black guard and black control plate. The black jazz now has a Hipshot Xtender on the 4th string. Both basses are 34” scale. I’ve replaced the passive electronics in the white 5 string with a ACG/East filter bassed pre-amp. I’ve got pictures of the install here.

The ’08 American Standard Jazz four and five-string basses feature Fender’s new high-mass vintage bridge, a thinner finish undercoat that lets the body breathe and improved resonance, new and improved Fender tuning keys that keep the classic look but are 30 percent lighter, a richer and deeper neck tint for a more elegant appearance, a great-looking glossed maple or rosewood fingerboard and satin back for smooth playability and a new Fender-exclusive SKB molded case. The finish of the body is a nitro-cellulose gloss lacquer.
